A while back I shared some images from the set of the upcoming Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, which looked like it was shaping up well. Today a brand new, story-centric trailer from FOX dropped, and the movie continues to look very promising.
Check Out the First Pictures from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
The most recent film in the franchise (2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes) was a pretty solid entry, and it looks like the next one is set to capitalize on that foundation. It's hard to judge the overall quality of a movie off a trailer, of course (since their job is solely to make the movie look good and get people interested), but what we are seeing so far appears to be high quality.
In Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, a group of human survivors comes in contact with the ape civilization, and war between the two sides seems all but inevitable. There's a lot of gun-pointing and tension-building in the trailer, but we don't see things escalate to combat until the end.

I will say that the humans, even with their guns and technology, look sorely outnumbered, so I'm not sure how they're able to put up a fight. It also seems like some parties are less willing to go to war than others, and personal relationships across both sides will influence the events of the film.
It's a pretty stirring trailer that incorporates both emotional drama and action, so I recommend watching for yourself below. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes hits theaters this summer on July 11.
