It's been five years since the last Wolfenstein game, developed by Raven Sofware. New Order is Bethesda's first go at the franchise since parent company ZeniMax purchased id Software in 2009. It will be the first Wolfenstein title to not take place during WWII, opting instead for the 60's of an alternate timeline in which the Nazis emerged from the war victorious.
The game takes place during the 1960's, and has players control longtime protagonist B.J. Blackowicz, now an amnesiac that's been living in an asylum for more than a decade. Despite his memory loss, he's the only OSA operative that can launch an "impossible" counter-offensive against the Nazi powers that have taken over the world.
