Get ready, we're about to turn the nostalgia dial all the way to 11. Long before faceless, high-pitched hellspawn screamed racial epithets over "friendly" games of Call of Duty and Battlefield, players once had to gather in the same room to get their FPS fix of multiplayer mayhem. Sounds hellish, I know, but it was actually a blast.
In the late 90's when the Nintendo 64 ruled the living room, GoldenEye 007 was the go-to choice for after school battles between buddies. It's been close to two decades since the game was released, but its mere mention is enough to stir warm and tingly sensations often referred to as "feelings" amongst even the most jaded. Around every corner, there's a new developer trying to breathe new life into an old property, and GoldenEye underwent that treatment in 2010 for the Wii, and the PS3 and Xbox 360 the following year as GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, but...eh...it just wasn't the same. Developer Eurocom just couldn't bottle lightning the way Rare did.
Enter YouTuber Willev, known on Reddit as iKon9, who's shown off his talents in a new video, showing what the game's first level, the creatively named "Dam," would look like if Ubisoft and Dunia Engine 2 had a hand in it, recreating the entire level using Far Cry 3's map editor.
It's not perfect, so you'll have to forgive Rook Island's pirates standing in for Soviet soldiers, and the 6P9 in place of Bond's iconic PP7, but it's still rather impressive. What really completes it though is the overlay of the level's music from the original game.

Intrigued? The creator provided a download link for anyone who wants to give it a go. Just place the file wherever you happen to store your user maps (traditionally, that's C:\Users\user\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 3\user maps), open it up with the Editor, and enjoy.
