The developer of "Lost Records: Bloom & Rage," Don't Nod, announced that it would be delaying the release of the game's second half by one month for "optimization" and "refinement."

Tape 2 for the game is now scheduled to launch on Apr. 15, 2025, and will let players experience more about the story. "Lost Records: Bloom & Rage" is the first time since "Twin Mirror" in 2020 that Don't Not revisited the narrative adventure genre.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage Delay

The studio became popular with the "Life is Strange" franchise that spawned several sequels and spin-offs throughout the years. In "Lost Records: Bloom & Rage," players follow the story of four high-school friends across two different timelines.

One half will recount the group's blurry and nostalgic "magical summer" of 1995. On the other hand, the second half is set 27 years later when the group of friends reunite in order to "confront the long-buried secret that made them promise to never speak again," according to Eurogamer.

These two halves were also said to be released in two launches with Tape 1, known as Bloom, arriving on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on Feb. 18, 2025. On the other hand, Tape 2, known as "Rage," was originally set to come out on Mar. 18, 2025.

Don't Nod released a statement talking about the release delay, saying that the decision was made to give the team the time they need to refine the experience for players. It would also allow developers to enhance the storytelling of the game for a truly immersive experience.

A Narrative-Driven Adventure

In "Lost Records: Bloom & Rage," players will experience a narrative-heavy playthrough where they will meet new characters and explore the town of Velvet Cove. The studio, on top of announcing the delay of the second half of the game, promised that it would make it up to fans, Game Rant said.

This was done by telling fans that it had something in store on social media that players should keep a lookout for. So far, what the developer means by this remains a mystery as no other details have been shared.

Don't Nod said that they were excited to have fans experience the full journey of the four characters: Autumn, Kat, Nora, and Swann. It is expected that "Lost Records: Bloom & Rage" will have a total playtime of about 10 to 12 hours.

This means that players should expect to spend around five to six hours when Tape 1 launches next month, according to Push Square.
