The developers behind "Throne & Liberty" shared plans via a new video that showcased what is in store for the game moving forward, including server mergers, new content, and many more.

Amazon Globalization Design Manager Tico went straight to talk about the major issue for global players right now, which is server mergers. He noted that the company's objectives with the consolidation is to ensure that the competitive landscape of the game remains balanced and functional.

Throne & Liberty's Future

Additionally, server merges are being done to widen the pool of players who can actually play together at the same time. This is something that is pretty much the standard for any MMORPG title.

Tico added that the company's approach to server mergers would involve a multi-step process, including merging auction houses between early access and launch servers. They would also offer a free server period and then they will perform the consolidation of existing servers, according to MassivelyOP.

He also wanted to emphasize that any servers that will be involved in the server mergers will be consolidated into new servers instead of mixing one server into an existing server. Tico noted that they have been working on "fundamental improvements" to "Throne & Liberty."

This comes ahead of the MMORPG's planned free expansion, Talandre, which was based on one of the game's Western servers. Additionally, it is also the name of a region that was added to the Korean servers last summer.

Planned Server Mergers and Other Changes

On top of the server merges, the developers are planning some changes to combat mechanics and improvements to player-versus-player content. The changes to combat mechanics are designed to make things more intuitive, fluid, and fun, MMORPG said.

These include players no longer being forced to face their targets when attacking and the removal of changes in movement speed when attacking. The developers are also planning to streamline movement controls in and out of combat to make things better for players.

Something that is being added to "Throne & Liberty" is line of sight requirements to be able to attack players and monsters as well as changes to the targeting system. On the PvP aspect of the game, the developers have been looking through player feedback.

They are now looking to expand and improve upon Guild versus Guild content as well as related rewards for this part of the game. Field bosses will also be part of this content and will work similarly to riftstone battles.

The planned changes come as "Throne & Liberty" recently got its first update of the year that featured quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes. Additionally, the Startree Solstice Pass Point Shop was extended for a little while longer, according to Game Rant.
