The recent official reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2 opened the doors to more possibilities for the console upgrade but also came with a supposed leak for "Mario Kart 9."

Details for the latest entry of Nintendo's racing franchise are still scarce but there was a brief gameplay clip that fans immediately worked to analyze. This has resulted in the confirmation of various characters, vehicles, and tracks that are believed to be coming with the game.

Mario Kart 9 Leak

The trailer showed only one track that is thought to be the very first race in the first cup that players will have access to in "Mario Kart 9." The track looked to be relatively simple and is titled Mario Bros. Circuit based on the banner on top of the starting line.

The name suggests that Nintendo is continuing its standard practice for the opening track in the "Mario Kart" games. The track revealed in the "Mario Kart 9" trailer stood out because it had, at times, incredible width, according to IGN.

One clip from the trailer showed a four-lane highway where racers can speed along side-by-side. Many people believe that this was designed like this to compensate for an increase in the number of drivers in the latest entry in the franchise, which can go up to 24 racers.

The trailer also confirmed more than a dozen characters that will be making their way into "Mario Kart 9." These include Mario and Luigi as well as their evil counterparts Wario and Waluigi.

New Gameplay Footage

The fact that the game will have bigger tracks and more players at any given time suggests that it could also feature more players than ever before. However, this is something that has not been officially confirmed so far, CBR said.

Other characters who were seen include Daisy, Donkey Kong, Pauline, Peach, Rosalina, Toad, and Yoshi. Some people also saw Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, and Toadette make an appearance in the trailer.

While there were also many other characters that were shown in the footage, they were difficult to make out. However, some players believe that likely candidates include Baby Rosalina and Bowser Jr.

The increase in the number of racers that "Mario Kart 9" can support at one time is double that of the limit seen in "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe." The previous entry in the franchise allowed all racers to be controlled by players in online play, but only up to four people per console could go into local multiplayer, according to Game Rant.
