Developer Grinding Gear Games' Path of Exile 2 is currently available in early access and lets players amass various currencies, such as Gold and different Orbs, and manage resources, such as Mana and Spirit.

The latter is arguably one of the more important resources you have access to in Path of Exile 2. It is very useful in unlocking a variety of buffs that will make your build stronger and also let you summon skeletal minions to attack enemies.

This guide helps players learn the basics of Spirit and know everything they should about this particular resource. There are also some tips about how you can best take advantage of it so as not to be wasteful.

What is Spirit?

The basic resources that you have access to in Path of Exile 2 are Life and Mana, which are typical of RPG titles in general. Spirit is a new addition to the game, and the first thing you should know is that it does not increase over time, according to One Esports.

There are three main ways to increase Spirit throughout Path of Exile 2: killing bosses, equipping gear and items, and becoming an Infernalist. The first method is simple and is somewhat easy to do because there are several optional bosses through the available Acts.

You can get various drops from these enemies, including items that will boost your character's Spirit permanently. The consumable drops in question are the Gembloom Skill, Gemrot Skill, and Gemcrust Skull.

There are also many items you get in Path of Exile 2 that will provide you with more Spirit, such as Sceptres and Solar Amulets. The former provides a base amount of 100 Spirit while the latter gives 10 to 15 Spirit.

Do note that these numbers will vary depending on the actual modifiers that are present on the weapon or item that you are equipping. While Uniques can also give you Spirit, the main issue with these is that they are hard to find, Polygon said.

The last main method of getting Spirit is by becoming an Infernalist, which is an Ascendancy of the Witch class. You get access to a skill that will boost your Spirit, which is Beidat's Will, that scales with your Max Life. It reserves 25% of Life to increase Maximum Spirit per 25 Maximum Life.

How To Use Spirit

Once you know where to get more Spirit, you can start making use of this new resource in Path of Exile 2. It is used to activate auras, activate Meta Gems, and summon minions. The first is really important, as auras are passive abilities that provide useful buffs.

In order to allocate Spirit, you need to first equip a Spirit-based skill and then activate it. If this is a persistent minion skill, you have to click on it, select set minion count, and choose the number of minions that you want, according to Rock Paper Shotgun.
