The Last of Us creator Naughty Dog revealed its latest project, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, at the recently concluded The Game Awards 2024.
The big reveal was made with a lengthy trailer that showcased a cinematic for the upcoming game, which was said to have been captured within the game engine. It was the final announcement for The Game Awards 2024.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet
The developer revealed Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will star Tati Gabrielle as Jordan, but there were no additional details about the casting that was revealed. It was also revealed that Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross will be responsible for scoring the game.
Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckman said after the official reveal that they are back now with Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. He added that the game is currently being developed for the PlayStation 5 console.
Druckman also said that they have been working on the upcoming sci-fi adventure since 2020, and it is quickly becoming the studio's wildest and most creative story yet, according to Variety.

He added that the protagonist of the game is Jordan A. Mun, who is described as a dangerous bounty hunter who tragically ends up stranded on Sempiria. This is a distant planet whose communication with the outside universe has gone dark several hundreds of years ago.
Rumors talk about how anyone who has flown to this particular planet trying to uncover its mysteries has never been heard from again. Jordan will need to make use of all of her skills if she wants to be the first person in the last six centuries to leave Sempiria's orbit.
Naughty Dog's Newest Franchise
Naughty Dog is keeping anything else about Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet under wraps for now but will share more with fans in the future. It said that the new game will live up to the developer's tradition of creating an emotional, character-driven epic journey, Naughty Dog said.
The company's narrative goals are only rivaled by its gameplay ambitions moving forward. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is said to have the deepest gameplay in the history of Naughty Dog as it learns from its previous games.
Naughty Dog said that Ross and Reznor are working overtime to bring an incredible soundtrack to the game. The trailer also featured a small tease of what their work has done for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
The game does not yet have an official release date and will most likely feature Hollywood actor Kumail Nanjiani as his portrait is seen in the trailer, according to The Verge.
