The latest Citadelle des Morts cinematic trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies showcases the return of Sergei Ravenov to the franchise.

For the most part, the new trailer is shown from Ravenov's perspective and shows his surprise to see his old allies still alive. The team is supposedly trying to locate a man named Gabriel Krafft who is said to be able to "bring back Maxis."

This is presumably talking about Samantha Maxis, who was a foe-turned-ally before she ultimately died sacrificing herself to seal the Dark Aether portal. The trailer suggests that Ravenov is somewhat intrigued by the new addition to the team, Maya Aguinaldo.

But he is much less thrilled about the fact that the team is working with William Peck. The primary objective of the team may align with Peck's for now but Ravenov believes he will betray them at some point.

Activision plans to release the Citadelle des Morts map on Dec. 5, 2024, which comes alongside the main story quest. Developer Treyarch shared details about the new perks and the classic zombie features that players can experience on the map, according to Game Spot.

The Zombies campaign is only a small part of the roadmap for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's Season 1 roadmap. Both studios are currently planning to keep players engaged in it for as long as possible.

They have already made several changes to Zombies and major new features are set to arrive throughout Season 1. Citadelle des Morts will be the third map in the game's Zombies mode and is much more eerie than the first two maps.

A lot of fans are expecting that the upcoming map will carry forward the round-based gameplay that was seen in Liberty Falls and Terminus. This is a relatively welcome change from the usual Outbreak Zombies formula, Game Rant said.

Citadelle des Morts will supposedly feature an old-timey village as well as a historic castle as its core setting. The promotional images have already drawn comparisons to past Zombies experience in the Call of Duty franchise.

One particular character to note in Zombies is Reaver, who had a major role in past games in the Zombies saga. His latest appearance was in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies where he was not playable and only acted to assist the team.

It seems like Ravenov will follow this pattern in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies and will stay on comms to provide assistance to the team, according to Sportskeeda.
