Developer Artificial Core announced that early access for its upcoming open-world MMORPG/MOBA hybrid game Corepunk is set to kick off on Nov. 26, 2024.

The title is shaping up to be primarily an open-world game but will include features from a MOBA game. Corepunk will reportedly have a top-down isometric viewpoint, similar to the likes of Torchlight and Diablo IV.

Corepunk Early Access

There is a trailer that is available right now that shows gameplay footage of Corepunk highlighting its various mechanics and features. One of the more notable things is that the game features both PvP and PvE battles.

The game also has relatively deep character customization. This lets players create their own unique avatars. There is also a fog-of-war mechanic that lets you gain the upper hand when you take advantage of high points.

The world of Corepunk is described as player-driven as other people can choose to focus on being merchants to sell their wares. It gives you the option of choosing from a selection of classes that each have their own unique skill trees, according to WCCFTech.

Having the freedom to allocate points freely throughout these skill trees makes the classes stand out in various ways, even among each other. Corepunk also lets players interact with the world and the various storylines that are hidden in various areas.

The early access period for the game is set to feature three full-voiced story episodes as well as the crafting and gathering systems. You will be given a choice from six character classes to use against any of the 15 world bosses.

A Unique Mix of MMORPG and MOBA

What makes Corepunk partly a MOBA is how the combat is played out which makes it reminiscent of something like League of Legends. This is particularly true given how the health bars and other stuff look, Mezha Media said.

The game is currently distributed only from its own website but plans to expand to a Buy-to-Play model and will also have a cosmetic item store in the future. The standard version is known as Corepunk: Light Bless the King Standard which costs roughly $37. But Corepunk: Light Bless the King Ultimate Plus is currently priced at around $68.

Corepunk will let players take on a variety of story missions in whatever order they prefer, unlike most MMORPG titles. There are also branching quests and alternate endings that will make new playthroughs even more justifiable, according to Worth Playing.
