Developer SquarePlay Games released version 1.0 of Space Trash Scavenger on Steam and it is currently on sale for a 33% discount.

The game is inside a universe where players will have to travel to the stars and turn space junk into something that can be salvaged. Another thing that players can do is work to make the process as automated as possible.

Space Trash Scavenger

The setting is the 31st century and your character is a worker employed by ScavCorp. You are being paid to build and pilot a Space Rig that can find and repurpose cosmic debris that was left over from an ancient galactic war.

Space Trash Scavenger is described as an automation and crafting game that will most likely feel similar to other games in the genre. These include things like Factorio, Satisfactory, and even Rust.

What this game does a little bit differently is that the setting is in the cosmos and you will experience gravity fields. These come from asteroids, abandoned outposts, derelict spaceships, and other objects, according to PCGamesN.

Fortunately for players, they have access to their own jetpacks and grapple guns that they can use to get around the vastness of space. You have freedom in choosing the layout of your base, particularly because in space, there is no up or down.

Your main focus on Space Trash Scavenger should be to scavenge and trade to make sure that you regularly get your salary from your employer. But you also need to make some time to prepare food and manage your fuel, weapons, and upgrades.

Traveling Through the Cosmos

Later on in the game, you will gain access to a warp drive that can be used to quickly travel between sectors, similar to Starfield. You can also break down the technology that you find and use it to make your base even better, SquarePlay Games said.

While flying in space, players will have to circumnavigate tiny asteroids and jet between abandoned outposts. You should be wary of how much fuel your jetpack has left because you will need it if you want to get back to your spaceship in one piece.

The developers have made it so that each salvage zone that players get to is a procedurally generated, dynamic, and ever-changing part of the open world. You should also be careful as you are not alone in space.

There are various alien bots that patrol a lot of the sectors that you travel to and they will immediately target you if they see you. This means that expanding your operations opens you up to more threats, according to Steam.
