FromSoftware parent company Kadokawa Corporation says that it has more than 20 games under development across all of the studios that it owns.
The parent company of the Elden Ring and Dark Souls developer shared the news that would most likely come as very much welcome to fans. Kadokawa Corporation owns several dozens of studios, including some developers and publishers.
Dozens of Games in Development
Some of these are Spike Chunsoft, Gotcha Gotcha Games, and Ascii Media Works. Kadokawa Corporation's latest earnings report showed that it currently has 26 games under development, with 20 for consoles and six for mobile devices.
With so many projects being worked on, the public only has information on a few of them right now. The most notable of these is Action Game Maker by Gotcha Gotcha Games. It was revealed in July 2024 as a follow-up to its popular RPG development tool.
One of the main hopes of FromSoftware fans is that the developer has several projects in store. The studio is responsible for releasing several highly acclaimed games. These include Elden Ring and Armored Core 6, according to Games Radar.

Director Hidetaka Miyazaki said in February 2024 that the studio had no current plans to push out more content for Elden Ring. This was for after the release of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. But Bandai Namco seems to have other ideas.
Following the game's launch in March 2022, CEO Yasuo Miyakaza said that Elden Ring was only the beginning of an entire franchise that is "beyond the game itself." Other popular titles that FromSoftware released include Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
FromSoftware's Success
Kadokawa Corporation originally acquired developer FromSoftware in 2014. The Japanese studio has since produced various popular franchises, including the Bloodborne series. Many fans have been begging for a new entry in the franchise for years now, Game Rant said.
Miyazaki previously said during an interview that the studio taking on several smaller projects after the release of Elden Ring was a logical decision. This means that if there are any sequels coming from the developer soon, they would be relatively miniscule.
Other than sequels, there is the possibility that FromSoftware works on remasters or remakes for some of its classic titles. Recently, the developer also increased its base salaries for employees by 11.8% and planned to hire more new graduates.
Another piece of interesting news is that Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree reportedly saved the Kadokawa Corporation from cyberattack losses that it suffered this year, according to PCGamer.
