The history of Pokémon goes back to 1996. Whether you've been entranced by this world since the beginning or only recently hopped on board, several video games are available to help you become a Pokémon Master. Of course, there are many interpretations of what it truly takes to become one. Regardless, it will take a lot of work, impressive skills, and a bit of luck if you want to become the best of the best.
How Can You Become a Pokémon Master?
Pokémon Trainers have been trying to master each game since the beginning. Pokémon has recently announced that the true meaning of a Pokémon Master is one who collects and trains at least one Pokémon of each type. Additionally, it's important to accept each Pokémon for what they are. In other words, a Pokémon Master uses each Pokémon to the best of its abilities rather than asking for more than they can give.
Despite this official meaning, there are still several players who have set their sights on achieving Pokémon Mastery in a variety of ways. Perhaps the best way involves defeating or capturing Mewtwo. This fan favorite is also the hardest character to train, as was pointed out in "Pokémon: The First Movie." Known as the greatest Pokémon Master, Mewtwo plays a major role in the games despite being an artificial Pokémon. He also happens to be one of the top hoped-for results whenever someone takes a Pokémon quiz.
Other Interpretations of a Pokémon Master
One of the original interpretations of a Pokémon Master is also the least realistic. Capturing every single type of Pokémon might seem like the road to mastery, but what happens when a new species is discovered? Furthermore, how is anyone supposed to catch them all when some Pokémon are only released in certain regions of the world?
Another almost impossible interpretation is that you must become a Pokémon Champion who never gets defeated. However, this means that, even if you lose one out of 1,000 battles, you could never call yourself a Pokémon Master. Even if you won the first 1,000 battles and dubbed yourself a Pokémon Master, it could all be taken away with one bad fight.
A much more achievable way to become a Pokémon Master is by obtaining every Gym Badge and beating each of your region's Gym Leaders. Yet this method also means that no one can ever be the very best, like no one ever was because each region will have its own Pokémon Master.
Choosing Not to Be a Pokémon Master
It seems much more likely that the creators behind Pokémon are trying to teach Trainers that being the single best Pokémon Master isn't possible. They want you to focus more on your relationship with each Pokémon rather than hoping to achieve something outside your means. Has Pokémon been trying to teach us to live in the moment and stop trying to be better than others this entire time? It certainly seems so.
