Stardew Valley just got a new update with the 1.6.9 patch. This comes ahead of the release of version 1.6 on console and mobile devices.
The latest patch brings with it a series of quality-of-life updates along with balance changes and bug fixes. One of the more noteworthy additions in the new content drop is the "Lost Items Shop" that will show up in players' secret woods area.
Stardew Valley's 1.6.9 Update
There are many items in Stardew Valley that players can only get one time. This means they are lost forever if you accidentally or unknowingly give them away or sell them. The new Lost Items Shop will now appear overnight after you lose an item.
The new feature will let players buy back whatever they have lost, such as the Stardew Hero Trophy and the Soda Machine. The patch notes for the 1.6.9 update also noted that if you are playing in multiplayer and one person loses an eligible item, anyone will be able to buy it back from the Lost Items Shop, according to Polygon.

The new update also adds a quality-of-life change where items that were dropped into bodies of water will, for a brief time, float. This gives players a chance to actually get it back instead of simply dropping to the bottom and being lost forever.
A Variety of Changes
Another new thing is that players can now put legendary fish in fish ponds. Do not that only one fish can be placed in each pond. The ponds that do have legendary fish will be a source of legendary fish roe. Each legendary fish will also change the color of the pond's water.
The 1.6.9 patch also lets players place beds and sleep inside any constructed buildings that will allow them to place furniture. Sam and Shane's work portraits will now be available in JojaMartThis is only as long as they are working at the establishment, Game Spot said.
Developer Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone also tweaked some existing dialogue in Stardew Valley. He also added brand new Easter eggs that players can try to find on their own. There are also hidden cheat commands that are new to the game. The latter is available on platforms where a save edit is available.
Barone also shared some new lore in Stardew Valley alongside the release of the 1.6.9 update. The new piece of story content explains a chicken-deleting bug that players have been experiencing ahead of a fix for the issue, according to Games Radar.
