Bandai Namco released the patch notes for Tekken 8's version 1.09 update that brings various character nerfs and changes to the fighting game.

Arguably the most noteworthy parts of the upcoming update are the nerfs to two characters in particular, Alisa and Dragunov. The balance changes come as the duo are generally considered the strongest in the current meta.

Tekken 8 Version 1.09

Dragunov stands out as he has been a problem for a lot of players since the launch of Tekken 8. The character was vastly overpowered and has been used to dominate various professional tournaments even after several nerfs.

Other changes included in the version 1.09 update include the addition of the Mishima Armor Pack and Shrine Maidens Armor Pack. These are two common costumes that players can equip for various playable characters. They cost 400 Tekken Coins each to purchase, according to PSU.

Another customization item that will be coming to the game is the Parker (Tekken 30th) Set which will be available for players for free. The last sets are the Vampire Set and Angel Set which will cost 300 Tekken Coins each.

The latest update also makes some adjustments to the Tekken Fight Lounge to make the player experience even smoother. The first is that if you beat Special Ghosts that appear in the Entrance, you have a chance to obtain customization items.

A Variety of Balance Changes

These include the Revived Tekken King (Heihachi avatar) and Harada_Tekken (Harada avatar) cosmetic items. There are also some changes being made to Ranked Match and Quick Match. The first is that if a match was not established with a found opponent, the game will no longer widen the search range, Event Hubs said.

For the Battle user interface, the latest update will make it easier for players to view their health status and remaining heat time. There is also a new setting that would prevent health gauges and heat timers from being hidden behind characters.

With regards to the changes for Alisa and Dragunov, some of the two characters' moves were adjusted to make them even fairer than others. For the latter, a lot of his moves were adjusted to reduce their overpowered stats.

One example of this is the reduced duration for Balance Direction during heat as well as having the hitbox of the third attack making it less likely to hit opponents who are behind you. The update also reduces tracking performance when the first attack misses, according to Bandai Namco.
