Publisher Tencent announces an official release date for the global open beta launch of Delta Force for PC players.

The studio revealed the official date to be Dec. 5, 2024, to let players try out the free-to-play tactical first-person shooter game. Developer NovaLogic was responsible for bringing the Delta Force franchise to life in 1998.

Delta Force Open Beta Release

The series later spawned eight sequels and the ninth, while it was announced, was never actually released because the studio shut down in 2016. Tencent announced last year that it was reviving the franchise for PC, consoles, and mobile devices.

The Delta Force reboot was developed by Timi Studio Group and has already had several alpha playtests since it was revealed. The game has supposedly progressed enough to move to the next stage of development, open beta.

The Dec. 5, 2024, global release is considered to be its "initial release version" and will include full live-service content updates. One other thing that was noted by the announcement is that it will not have progress resets, according to Eurogamer.

The open beta release will coincide with Delta Force's first season, named Genesis, which will introduce new maps and different modes. These will be accessible for both of the game's 32-player Havoc Warfare and Hazard Operations' squad-based PvPvE.

There were also some rumors that Tencent is planning to introduce a new operator who will join the game's current seven. Talks of new weapons and a new vehicle also hyped up the open beta release of Delta Force.

Highly Anticipated First-Person Shooter

The publisher posted on Steam thanking the development team for the rapid progress of Delta Force. Tencent also expressed gratitude for the positive reception of the community to its upcoming game, Insider Gaming said.

Tencent also said that on top of the new maps and weapons, the open beta will have major improvements to gameplay. These include better performance and bug fixes for a variety of issues that can stifle player experience.

When Delta Force launches, there will be no controller support but it is scheduled to come alongside the full release sometime in the first quarter of next year. The publisher even said that this feature is already under development and will be added to the game soon.

Delta Force's console and mobile versions are scheduled to come out when the game releases in full in 2025. On top of the game's multiplayer feature, it will have a campaign mode that is based on the Ridley Scott movie Black Hawk Down, according to the Video Games Chronicle.
