Doomfist is one of the tank heroes in Overwatch 2 and is equipped with various tools in his kit that make him an annoying character on the battlefield.

This particular hero was placed in a unique position following some recent changes by Blizzard. Doomfist became tankier with more health but his attack abilities were nerfed. The latter is significant as it is now harder to deal with a lot of threats.

Fortunately, this guide aims to help players learn how to utilize Doomfist's entire tool kit to make the best of his abilities to dominate the battlefield. One thing that makes this hero stand out is that he can be a reliable DPS tank if the team needs it.

Doomfist's Abilities

This hero's primary fire is Hand Cannon which fires four shots that contain 11 pellets each with a broad spread, according to Game Spot. This has a relatively short range as it acts like a shotgun but it can reload automatically.

Doomfist's first active ability known as Rocket Punch launches the hero forward. He then punches enemies in front of him for relatively high damage. This ability can be charged to increase its damage and distance.

The next ability is Power Block, which protects Doomfist by reducing incoming frontal damage by 80%, which is a significant number. However, the drawback is that this will only last for two seconds.

The hero's last regular ability is Seismic Slam, where he leaps forward and then smashes the ground for some damage to enemies in the area. This can be useful as both an initiator and an escape skill when used correctly.

Ultimate Ability

Doomfist's Ultimate ability is known as Meteor Strike and has the hero leaping up into the air. You can then move the targeting circle and press the primary fire when you want to rain down fire on the designated area, IGN said.

This is an amazing damaging ability that should be used when enemies are grouped up to dish out the highest damage possible. It can also be used to zone out reinforcements if your team is trying to capture an objective.

Other Tips

One of your main roles as your party's tank character is to keep your damage and support heroes healthy and away from danger as much as possible. This includes keeping ambushing heroes at bay.

Doomfist's kit also encourages players to initiate a teamfight to disrupt the enemy heroes' positioning and distract them. These are two conflicting playstyles that players should learn when to perform based on the conditions of the battlefield.

One particular use for Rocket Punch is by knocking enemy heroes off cliffs or off the map. This instantly eliminates them no matter their remaining health. If you see an enemy dangerously close to the edge, leap towards them and punch them out of existence.

Positioning is key to using Doomfist properly and one example of this is using Slam so that your enemies are all on the same side when you land. This lets you use Power Block to reduce all of their damage if you are looking at them, according to The Gamer.
