Stardew Valley features a lot of professions that players can level up, including mining which can reward you with a variety of ores and other resources.

On top of the mining profession, the cozy farming life sim has the Mines area that is filled with different resources as well as enemies. Starting out in Stardew Valley can be daunting as there are a lot of things that the game doesn't tell you.

This guide will help players learn more about the mining profession. It also gives a general overview of the Mines themselves. Some of the resources that you can acquire here are Coal, Stone, and various metallic ores.

Leveling Up Your Mining Profession

In order to level up your mining, you need to perform actions related to the skill a lot of times to get experience points. When it comes to mining, the more energy you have, the better. This means that it is recommended to go to the mines on rainy days since you don't have much to do elsewhere, according to The Gamer.

Rainy days are especially useful if you don't have sprinklers set up on your farm just yet. Because this means that you are watering your crops by yourself, which takes up a lot of time and energy. When it rains, you don't need to water anything and can use the extra energy on mining.

Break Silver Rocks

When you get to the mines, it is advisable to always break silver rocks whenever you find them. These stones grant you guaranteed experience points as well as Stone. They also have a chance of dropping Geodes and other useful stuff like Coal and Ore.

You can find these Silver Rocks anywhere that rocks normally appear. However, if you are simply trying to go down as deep as you can, you should more likely than not skip breaking these to save up energy.

Interact With the Dwarf

The Dwarf is Stardew Valley's main resident living inside the Mines. The game allows players to form a meaningful relationship with this particular NPC. The good thing about the Dwarf is that it has a unique shop that includes mine-themed items, Game Rant said.

Players can buy things like bombs, Life Elixir, Oil of Garlic, and Miner's Treat. Life Elixir is particularly useful in the Mines if you encounter many enemies. This item will heal you back to full health.

Best Food To Bring in the Mines

If you plan to go into the Mines to level up your mining profession or look for resources, it is best to bring some good food to replenish your energy and health. One of the easiest food to bring, especially in the early game, is cheese, as it is an efficient source of energy.

Players who are looking to go to the Skull Caverns would probably need something a little bit stronger than just cheese. For these times, you should be taking with you the Spicy Eel dish and the Triple Shot Espresso.

These items are primarily useful for the buffs that they provide to your character. The Spicy Eel dish will give you 115 energy and 51 health. It also gives you a +1 boost to both Luck and Speed.

On the other hand, the Triple Shot Espresso doesn't really give you anything when it comes to energy and health. However, it does give you a +1 boost in Speed. This is particularly useful when fighting monsters and moving around the area, according to Screen Rant.
