DeathTower is an upcoming roguelike that features 2.5D isometric visuals and takes inspiration from the likes of Hades and Fire Emblem.

Players can experience the infinite megastructure as they take control of Ikarus. The protagonist is swept up in the mysteries of the tower after a parasite-cleaning operation goes awry. The tower itself was built thousands of years ago.

DeathTower PC Demo Out Now

The tower, known as Megaryon, is filled with various secrets, some of which are related to the true masters of the mechanical structure. Ikarus sets off on an adventure to ascend the tower accompanied by Phi. The latter is a mysterious wandering µbot that was created through the tower's autonomous operations.

The duo will journey and encounter biological parasites, trained soldiers, and degenerating µbots as they try to uncover the truth about Megaryon. DeathTower mixes various roguelike elements with immersive sims and JRPG mechanics, according to Gematsu.

This combination was meant to create an engaging gameplay experience that is unique to DeathTower. As players climb Megaryon, they will have to combine stealthy infiltration and an arsenal of powerful weapons in order to complete their goal.

If you choose a combative approach, you will have access to a variety of weapons, grenades, and ammunition. If you would rather take the stealthy path, you can take advantage of environmental structures and resources to keep yourself from being noticed.

Throughout your journey, you will be able to unlock four other characters who will join Ikarus on his journey. All of these characters will fight within a class system that has its own skill types and upgrades, PCGamesN said.

A Unique Roguelike Experience

If you are unfortunate enough to fail a particular run up the tower, Ikarus and his party members will maintain the skills that they have already gained. This will surely help you in your next attempt towards the top.

DeathTower features four different biomes within the tower and several floors are scattered throughout each one. Players will have to fight through each floor's threats and use hacks in the tower's programming to boost their abilities.

It is crucial for you to hack the tower's nanomachines to progress through the campaign. There are ten classes available and each has 75 skills in total. You can choose to either master one class or split your skills into multiple classes to become flexible.

The tower also has elevators found between levels that you can use to heal and upgrade your abilities. The latter can be done using resources that you gather throughout your run. The demo for PC is now out and the Kickstarter will launch soon, according to Games Press.
