Developer Mob Entertainment shared new information regarding the upcoming Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 game, most notably its PC release date.
The new announcement comes after Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 had a relatively closed-off ending. This was where all of the Smiling Critters were confirmed to have died. Also, their supposed leader, CatNap, was found to have been operating under The Prototype's influence.
Poppy Playtime Chapter 4
While players got answers to many of the questions they had while playing through the franchise, it was never made clear where the story was going. Furthermore, there was no information on what role Poppy even plays in everything.
All of this suggests that Poppy Playtime is still far from its actual ending and fans are excited about its future prospects. Mob Entertainment announced the continuation of the series eight months after the release of Poppy Playtime Chapter 3, according to One Esports.
Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 is set to come out in January 2025 for PC. Given Mob Entertainment's typical release pattern, console versions of the game are expected to arrive a few months later.
Comparing it to Poppy Playtime Chapter 3, fans could get console versions of the new game sometime in September 2025. The previous game focused on a mysterious nightmare-inducing Poppy gas and introduced the concept of masks to the franchise.

The Poppy Playtime series is a survival horror franchise that focuses on exploring pediophobia. This is the fear of dolls and other humanoid inanimate objects. The first game launched in October 2021 and the sequels were released in May 2022 and January 2024, Game Rant said.
The latest announcement for Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 came alongside a new trailer. Mob Entertainment said that fans of the series can expect the darkest and most unsettling installment yet.
A More Horrific and Unsettling Experience
The developer promises to deliver a lot of terrifying characters and will work on further expanding the series' lore. The upcoming game will have players learning more about Playtime Co. They will be able to explore new levels that continue experimenting with a variety of gameplay mechanics.
The ending of Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 reinforces the idea that the deepest parts of Playtime Co. will have more horrors than any other area. It was also seen that the Prototype is moving bodies of defeated toys elsewhere.
Between this information and the confirmation of many familiar faces coming back, the upcoming game will likely feature toys that were recreated by the Prototype, according to Screen Rant.
