Japanese studio Bandai Namco shared new details about its upcoming Tales of Grace Remastered following the title's recent announcement.

In a new blog post, the studio talked about new features that both new and longtime fans can expect to see. The majority of these were discussed at the end of last month but Bandai Namco clarified some things.

Tales of Grace Remastered

Players can expect the usual graphical upgrades coming with the remastered version. But Bandai Namco decided to add a new dash that is faster than simply running. It allows players to explore much faster than before.

You will also be able to fast-forward or even skip skits and you have the option to immediately retry Regular Battles if you were defeated. One of Bandai Namco's newest additions is subtitles that are available for Mystic Artes during battle and for post-battle dialogue interactions.

The studio clarified that the majority of the original game's DLC will be included but some content was excluded from the remastered version. One more thing that is new is that certain DLC skis from the original that were only available in Japanese are now also in English, according to RPG Site.

The game is expected to be released on Jan. 17, 2025, and will be available on modern and previous-generation consoles as well as PC via Steam. The official description details what fans can expect to see in the modernized version of the game.

Another useful feature that was added with the remaster is an auto-save function. You can also turn off enemy encounters in fields and dungeons in the game options. The franchise's iconic Grade Shop is also now unlocked at the beginning of the game.

For the latter, purchased effects are automatically set to On and there are certain effects that players can turn off in the menu. Character levels and other data transfer-related effects are not accessible in the first playthrough, Bandai Namco said.

Various New Features

Destination Icons are also introduced in the remaster when players will see the next Main Story destination being highlighted by an "!" icon. You will also see the distance remaining between you and the area.

When it comes to content, the remaster will feature mostly the same cosmetic and item DLC from the original. However, there are certain licensed items that were excluded from the upcoming release.

The original title was released in 2010 for the PlayStation 3 in Japan and internationally in 2012. It was by itself an enhanced version of the Tales of Grace title on the Nintendo Wii. The latter was released only in Japan in 2009, according to RPGamer.
