The major update brought along with a ton of content, changes, and fixes for the highly popular game. It includes various new festivals and events, a mastery system, and brand-new NPCs to interact with.
The festivals that are new to the game are the Desert Festival, two mini fishing festivals, and a new environmental "event" that happens in the summer. The master system can be accessed via a new area. It gives players a chance to use powerful perks and items, according to NintendoEverything.
There is also a new farm type known as the Meadowlands Farm that players can choose at the beginning of the game. This new type has a chewy blue grass that animals simply love to eat. You also have a choice to start with a coop and two chickens.

A Ton of New Content
But the latest version launched on PC was released several months ago. Many fans have waited patiently for the new update to come to consoles and mobile devices. ConcernedApe also apologizes to the community for the delayed release of this particular version of the patch.
The developer also shared some of his thought process regarding the major update. He said that "almost everything" can be experienced from an existing save. But players who want to start over to have a complete experience are free to do so.
Some players also had some criticism regarding ConcernedApe's decision to stagger the release of update 1.6 He responded by saying that he always wanted to do a PC release first to make sure that there were no critical bugs.
The decision was made because these bugs are a much more difficult issue to deal with on consoles and cannot be patched out as easily compared to PC, according to TheGamer.
