Leaks for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered suggest that the game is coming soon to PlayStation and PC in the future.
The latest news comes after a new rating from the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB). It detailed the unannounced game that will be released by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
The ESRB description for the remastered version of the game is identical to the original Horizon Zero Dawn. The latter originally launched in 2017 for the PlayStation 4. Neither Guerilla Games nor Sony has officially revealed the remastered version.
However, the project would be consistent with previous remasters of PlayStation 4 games, such as The Last of Us Part 2. The existence of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered was first reported in 2022.
The original game is currently playable on PlayStation 5 through backward compatibility and it is also available on PC.
The latter came with the release of Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition. So far, it remains a mystery what the remastered version could add to the base game, according to Polygon.

The PlayStation 5 version of the unannounced remaster could take advantage of the recently revealed PlayStation 5 Pro. The latter will be released this November and will run games at smoother frame rates and higher display resolutions.
The remastered version comes as fans of the franchise are questioning the purpose of actually remastering Horizon Zero Dawn. This is because the game came out less than a decade ago. Many people are calling the move "largely unnecessary."
Some also argue that the base game still holds up quite well even by today's standards. While many responses to the recent leak have been largely negative, there are some who are looking forward to the remastered version, said ComicBook.
A Highly Popular Franchise
On top of the remastered version, there is LEGO Horizon Adventures which is a much more kid-friendly take on the series. There is also a VR spin-off titled Horizon Call of the Mountain that was released in 2023.
The ESRB rating for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered also comes after Sony pulled the base game from PlayStation Plus earlier this year. The series stars Aloy who journeys across the lands in a post-apocalyptic setting.
It is Guerilla Games' project that introduced robotic dinosaur-like creatures and a deep and immersive lore. Horizon Zero Dawn has sold more than 24 million copies since it first came out. It is one of PlayStation's most popular titles. It is also one of its best-selling games of all time, according to IGN.
