Wayfinder's version 1.0 is set to launch in October later this year following the game's recent Echoes update that recently arrived on the PlayStation 5.

The team behind the game also decided to announce a new collaboration with Critical Role. The official launch date for Wayfinder's 1.0 update is Oct. 21, 2024. The rebooted game is a one-time purchase product that has no in-game monetization.

Wayfinder's 1.0 Launch

The game will feature an offline mode while also supporting optional co-op for players to play with friends. The collaboration with Critical Role comes in the first optional supporter pack. It adds some themed content such as a Trinket mount, housing items, and Vox Machina character skins.

Players who buy this particular will also get four character charms as well as 10 sprays. It will be on sale for $19.99 and will launch with the game's version 1.0 on Oct. 21, 2024, according to MMORPG.

Wayfinder developer Airship Syndicate said that they will work to add more Supporter Packs in the future with the same philosophy as the first. This is because they are unique and cool cosmetic collaborations with other intellectual properties (IPs).

The studio added that they are not yet ready to announce exactly what these are but fans should probably be able to make educated guesses. Wayfinder is currently available on PC and PlayStation 5 and recently got the second of two promised quality-of-life updates.

The latest patch includes everything from the lobby browser and in-game chat to a housing expansion, world scaling, and UI customizations. Airship Syndicate noted that the game's 1.0 launch will be the largest that it has ever seen, said MassivelyOP.

The upcoming update will also feature a new Wayfinder, a new open-world area, two new lost zones, six new weapons, and full mod support. The studio's LaSaracina also talked a little bit about the latest updates.

Various New Features

She said that they heard the community that supported Wayfinder and wanted the latest patch to reflect their gratitude to players. She was asked a question regarding players editing their saves to cheat various cosmetics.

LaSaracina said that there really is no way to prevent this on PC now that the game is basically offline and single-player. They initially thought of bringing Easy Anti-Cheat over from the live game to the offline/co-op version but said that it was not worth it.

The reason that Wayfinder shifted to a single-player game with optional co-op from being a free-to-play online-only multiplayer game was because of losing its publisher Digital Extremes, according to GamesRadar.
