Developer BioWare, who is responsible for work on Dragon Age: The Veilguard, has shared new details with players on how exactly the upcoming game's progression will work as well as other information.

The studio made the announcement in a blog spot alongside a video that shows how the three main areas of progression in Dragon Age: The Veilguard will work. These are skill progression, item progression, and companion progression.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard Progression

The protagonist in the latest game in the franchise, Rook, is said to be able to reach a maximum level of 50, with the majority of the experience boosts coming from finishing quests. BioWare also noted that Rook will gain experience from killing enemies and exploring.

However, the studio revealed that gaining levels is most efficient when helping the people of Thedas or taking some time to deepen the character's bond with the Veilguard.

It also noted that weapons, armor, and accessories can be found or purchased throughout the region and that each item has its own stats and properties, according to the VideoGamesChronicle.

Furthermore, players will be able to upgrade and exchange their equipment at the Caretaker's Workshop in the Lighthouse. Doing this will unlock additional effects for Rook as well as his companions in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Additionally, Veilguard members will have their own levels and each level that is gained will unlock skill points. BioWare noted that every single companion will have quests that will deepen Rook's bond with them and is one of the main ways that they can get experience.

The new progression reveal comes as BioWare's Dragon Age: The Veilguard is set to launch later this year. The studio is now starting to share more details about the upcoming game showing its finer details, said Eurogamer.

The Game's Finer Details

One of the more interesting things that BioWare detailed in its blog post is the particulars of the upcoming game's skill tree. There are different nodes that come in different shapes and these are what reflect the type of unlockable it contains.

An example of these are large circles that denote core Class skills and weapon proficiencies and diamonds indicate an unlockable ability that players can put in their hero's abilities slot.

On the other hand, Medium circles feature major passive or ability upgrades that add various effects and modifiers to existing abilities or stats.

Furthermore, a single enchantment can be applied to each item and ability and you can unlock more each time the Caretaker's Workshop is upgraded. Players who enjoy making their characters look good also have armor transmogrification and appearance-only armor at their disposal, said WCCFTech.
