Destiny 2's Echoes Act 3 is coming soon and will bring with it a new exotic mission, new weapons, as well as new artifact perks.

The latest update to the highly popular game will arrive on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. PT. Echoes Act 3 will add some brand-new content to Destiny 2, including cosmetics and various activities.

On top of these, the final act of Echoes will also introduce players to a brand-new exotic mission that comes alongside a new exotic weapon that has left fans very excited. Assistant game director Robbie Stevens also talked about what fans could expect from the upcoming exotic mission.

He called it "one of the biggest Exotic missions we've ever built," adding that it was only possible to add because of the new content cadence. Stevens said that it would have been impossible to build such a massive Exotic mission in the past, according to TheGamePost.

Stevens added that this is where they see the development team taking the opportunity to really seize the chance to expand Nessus. He called Destiny a living world that is expanding and changing throughout time.

The new episodic model has allowed Bungie to stretch their creative muscles in a way that was not previously possible. But so far, the studio has not yet revealed any further details regarding the release date of the new exotic mission.

Echoes Act 3 comes as every part of the major update has brought additional weapons in Destiny 2 players' arsenal. The first act added nine new weapons and the second act introduced another three, said Dexerto.

For Echoes Act 3, Bungie is adding three more weapons; the Speleologist, Chronophage, and the Martyr's Retribution grenade launcher. The first is a Rapid-Fire Solar Machine Gun while the second is an Adaptive Void Trace Rifle.

Finally, the last one, the Martyr's Retribution, is a fan-favorite Solar Wave Frame Grenade Launcher that is returning with some of its classic perks. It also now includes a few new build-crafting options for players to tinker with.

While there isn't much other information about Destiny 2's Echoes Act 3, if the previous update is anything to go by, the latest patch will unlock the remaining battle pass rewards from tier 151 to 200.

Furthermore, many fans are expecting that they will be able to unlock new artifact mods and run new three-player activities, according to OneEsports.
