The Sims 4 Fixes Another Incest Bug in Lovestruck Pack

The Sims 4 Lovestruck expansion pack caused the game to have an unexpected problem whereby it introduced an unintended incest bug. The bug occurred when Sims in the game developed feelings for family members, which certainly wasn't what the creators had in mind. Maxis and EA responded promptly with a promise of a fix, which has now been deployed. A patch released on the 26th of July ensures that players will no longer be getting inappropriate messages from family members in the game.

The Incident and Response

The problem cropped up with the release of the Lovestruck expansion pack that included a raft of new features, such as an in-game dating app, further Inflate in relationships, and the ability to be polyamorous. It was alongside those updates that players began to report a bug allowing Sims to get crushes on their family members.

This unintended feature came to the attention of the community. Moderators of the site, Maxis and EA, took the matter seriously and replied that they would indeed fix the bug first. Not only the patch solved the incest issue but also other bugs including the "Mean Streak" phase failing to turn off when entering adulthood and adoption processes just ending without completion.

Previous Bugs and Community Reaction

This isn't the first time such problem has haunted The Sims 4. A very similar bug happened with the High School Years expansion, where Sims would suddenly have the desire to get intimate with family members. That was fixed pretty fast, but Lovestruck again brought a very similar glitch. Players were giving their thoughts on these bugs through social media showing immense disappointment, while at the same time appreciating the quick fixes of the developers.

The Sims 4 Lovestruck has been highly anticipated for a minute, with important updates to the game's romance systems. Now, having finally nailed down those bugs that plagued its release day, players finally get to explore these new additions without those unintended problems.
