Tekken 8 Welcomes Back Heihachi Mishima as DLC Character

Bandai Namco has announced that Heihachi Mishima will make a comeback to take his rightful place within Tekken 8 as the next DLC character, proclaimed during Evo 2024 held in Las Vegas. His revelation came to give the fans in prompt sensation who went to watch the battles at the highest level during the event.

Heihachi is definitely one of the series and one of the most popular characters in the game. He will have his game debut this fall in 2024. He comes following the previous DLC characters, Eddy Gordo and Lidia Sobieska. Lidia is available to all on July 25.

Expand Tekken 8 Lore with New Story Chapter

Tekken 8 will also, for the first time, implicate an added go into the storyline with an additional chapter. This chapter will be outside the main game and will feature how the forever conflict between the Mishima and Kazama families continues.

This storyline expansion will be free and will deal further with 'The Dark Awakens' story. Bandai Namco has not announced the release date for the new chapter just yet.

Tekken x Nike Collaboration Announcement

Among the bigger takeaways, however, was the announcement of the Tekken collaboration with Nike. A video coincidentally dropped at the end of the Tekken finals, featuring characters wearing Nike gear, such as the Nike Air Foamposite One Kazuya Mishima shoes. Some Evo conference attendees were able to buy the shoes through the SNKRS app. Bandai Namco has revealed it's interested in sharing more details soon on the Nike x Tekken collaboration.

This record-setting event saw participation by at least 10,224 players from 63 countries playing in one of the eight big tournaments. Other crowd favorites for main stage features this year included Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat 1, Guilty Gear Strive, and King of Fighters XV. The throwback game for this year is titled Street Fighter III: Third Strike.
