Next Game Reveal at Tokyo Game Show

VGC reported the news after translating a stream hosted by RGG on its official YouTube channel. During the stream, RGG shared its plans to showcase the new game at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show. This event is highly anticipated by fans eager to see what the studio has been working on.

Details about the new game are scarce. The stream primarily focused on announcing the winners of the Minato Girls Audition, held in March. These winners are set to appear in the next Like a Dragon game. However, it remains unclear if the upcoming game will be a continuation of the series or something entirely new.

Fans Anticipate New Release

The last game in the series, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, was released on January 25, 2024, to positive reviews, including an 8/10 rating from popular gaming websites. Despite the recent release, RGG has a track record of quickly producing high-quality games, as evidenced by the close release dates of Like a Dragon: Ishin, Like a Dragon Gaiden, and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

Speculation about the new game has been fueled by a user on X who claimed that RGG hinted at surprising fans with their next release during an event at Anime Expo 2024. This statement has led to various theories, including the possibility of a new Gaiden-like adventure or even another mainline release. Some fans are also hoping for a sequel to Judgment.

In addition to the game reveal, fans can look forward to Amazon's live-action adaptation of the Like a Dragon franchise, set to premiere in October, shortly after the Tokyo Game Show announcement.
