The developer behind Baldur's Gate 3, Larian Studios, teased all of the new features that will be coming to the highly popular role-playing game in the next patch.
In a blog post for the seventh major patch of the game, the word "kiss" was used 10 times while the word "bug" could be seen 14 times. The upcoming update will be released in September 2024 and will introduce a variety of new features.
Baldur's Gate 3's Upcoming Patch
These include the introduction of dynamic split-screen functionality, expansions for Honor mode, modding tools, new endings for evil playthroughs, and a brace of tweaks for Origin characters. The split-screen functionality will work when co-op players are close to each other, which is when their screens will merge.
Players are able to toggle this option directly from the HUD or within the game's settings, whether in or out of combat.
The patch would also allow for banter between characters assigned to different people in multiplayer instead of limiting it to characters who are controlled by a single player, according to Rock Paper Shotgun.
When it comes to the expansions for Honour mod, the seventh major patch will have Legendary Actions. These are mode-exclusive special unique actions that will be available in the right circumstances and to more creatures. These include the bulette, Malur Thorm, Ch'r'ai Tska'an, Ch'r'ai Har'rak, and Ptaris.

Larian Studios also decided to give local hobgoblin Dror Ragzlin an Arachnid Compulsion ability that will let him sic a bunch of pit spiders on players. Another thing that players can expect to enjoy is the new modding tools.
These will let players fiddle with a variety of things, including items, such as armor and weapons, cosmetic stuff, such as hair and textures, races, classes, subclasses, and more. The studio is also working with specific mod authors to roadtest the tools ahead of the patch's official launch.
A Variety of New Features
The upcoming patch will also have some changes to the narrative where there will be tweaks and updates to companion stories, dialogue, and romance content.
Larian Studios is also adding new cinematics that will reflect some of Baldur's Gate 3's more evil endings for origin and dark urge characters, said The Verge.
Some players are worried that the latest patch is the studio's final goodbye to Baldur's Gate 3 before it moves on to other projects.
However, Larian Studios reassured fans that the seventh patch is not the last update for the RPG. Other features that are also coming to Baldur's Gate 3 include cross-play and a photo mode.
Despite the variety of new features that were confirmed to be coming with the seventh major patch, many players still had some questions for Larian Studios. These include some romance features that they wanted to see in Baldur's Gate 3.
One user even asked if they would be able to kiss Gortash and the studio responded by saying that he is a complicated guy who is too busy contemplating the minutia of death cult office politics. It seems that the company is saying that the character in question will not have time to kiss, according to GamesRadar.
