Palworld Guide to Sakurajima: Pals, Structures, and More!

Palworld is an open-world monster-capturing survival game developed by PocketPair which recently launched a major update that added the new Sakurajima region.

The new area that was introduced is filled with various new pals and resources for players to collect. The patch also included new structures that you can build and more challenges to overcome in the overworld.

Before getting to know the new Pals, you will first have to get to the region of Sakurajima itself, which is located on the northwest portion of the map. If you already have all of the fast-travel points unlocked, the closest one to the new island is the one on Ice Wind Island, and then fly across the water.

When you start exploring the new land, the first thing that you will notice is numerous landmarks scattered throughout. The most important of these is the Moonflower Tower located in the center of the island itself, which is something that completionists should remember, according to IGN.

Something that is also worth noting is that the center of the Sakurajima island is filled with cherry blossom trees and iconic Japanese structures. But it also features desert regions to the north and south that can spawn sulfur, coal, and the new resource, crude oil.

The new Pals that were introduced in the latest update include Selyne, Croajiro, Lullu, Shroomer, Shroomer Noct, Kikit, Sootseer, Prixter, Knocklem, Yakumo, Dogen, Dazemu, Mimog, Xenovader, and Xenogard.

On top of the new Pals and resources, there is also a new Tower Boss; Saya, who is the leader of the new faction introduced in the Sakurajima patch. She is the strongest Tower Boss in the game so far and all bosses now have hard modes to challenge you further but will give out greater rewards.

A new raid boss also comes with the new update; Blazamut Ryu, which is a Dragon-type sub-species of Blazamut. Developer PocketPair is touting this particular Pal as the strongest Dragon-type in the game, said Video Games.

Accessing New Content

A feature that players have been waiting for since it was teased has also been added to Palworld, which is the PvP arena. This can be found if you travel to the Desiccated Desert and will let you battle it out against other players to determine the strongest Pal.

The Oil Rig stronghold is a new structure that is under the control of the Rayne Syndicate and is equipped with powerful defenses. But if you successfully defeat those who are guarding it, you will be able to loot the chests inside.

Other than these, PocketPair also increased the Level and Technology cap in the game, and are now set at 55 each, unlocking a whole new range of items. There are also Boss Hat cosmetics that have been introduced that can be acquired by defeating Tower Bosses on hard mode.

Another new mechanic added in the Sakurajima update is lockpicking, which will let you open chests scattered across the region. You need to use Ancient Technology Points to access this mechanic at three different levels, according to Dexerto.
