World of Warcraft Player First to Unlock All 2,057 Achievements

Many gamers have played quite a few hours of World of Warcraft, but only one has played enough to unlock all 2,057 achievements.

Russian player Хируко just became the first to complete every achievement in the long-running MMO, beating out several million other players over the last decade of questing. Players have unlocked all the achievements in the past when there were less of them, but this is the first time someone has done so after Mists of Pandaria and other endgame content were released.

This might have been something you thought had been done already--I wouldn't blame you. With the amount people play World of Warcraft, I suppose I assumed that unlocking all of the achievements was an inevitable goal that had already been reached by many players.

The fact that nobody had done it before shows how much investment and effort is actually needed, even though achievement systems across all platforms are just meaningless fun (and some people pay them little to no attention).

Хируко went above and beyond as well. He not only is atop the achievement leaderboards, but he has several Realm Firsts--some of which required some nefarious behavior. He was the first player to level a character of every class to the maximum, which sounds insane. He had some help though, moving to a low population server and having his guild members routinely kill anyone else trying to get to 90.

That's dedication for sure, but it sounds pretty evil. Blizzard is removing Realm Firsts from Warlords of Draenor, likely to avoid these situations. Hats off to Хируко for his efforts though, even if this feat took (almost literally) countless days on end.
