The first teaser trailer for Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers lasts just under a minute and showcases the action that fans can expect to see in the upcoming series. The story in the anime takes place in a world where science and technology have lost their popularity and have essentially been replaced.

There is a new energy source that is being used, magic, which also fuels biological weapons that are known as Gears. These titular Gears eventually rise up and fight against humanity in a vicious rebellion, according to EventHubs.

Additionally, the story of the show features various characters, including Sol Badguy, Sin Kiske, and a brand new individual, Unika. The latter is seen quite a bit in the teaser trailer and it was also revealed that Guilty Gear series creator Daisuke Ishiwatari is designing original characters specifically for the anime.

The official synopsis of Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers by Arc System Works says that science and technology have faced a decline. The show features humanity creating forbidden biological weapons which eventually rebel.

While humans were able to overcome the struggle for survival known as the Crusades, the losses that they suffered were great. This has continued for several decades and the emotional wounds of the devastation have yet to fully heal.

On top of showcasing the teaser trailer, the cast for Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers was also revealed to the public. Sin Kiske will be voiced by Issei Miyazaki, Sol Badguy will be voiced by Jouji Nakata, Unika will be voiced by Yui Ishikawa, and the narrator will be Tomokazu Sugita, said Crunchyroll.

Success of the Guilty Gear Strive Game

The director for the upcoming show will be Shigeru Morikawa and the scripts will be handled by Norimitsu Kaiho. The anime comes as Guilty Gear Strive turned three years old in mid-June and Arc System Works said that the game has crossed the 3 million players worldwide mark.

The fighter game was originally launched in 2021 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC and was followed by a Japanese arcade release in July that same year. The title then went on to become available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in March 2023 as well as Xbox Game Pass.

Guilt Gear Strive was the first mainline entry in the franchise since the release of Guilty Gear Xrd in 2014 and it was the first to release on modern consoles. The upcoming anime will support the most recent game on top of the typical post-launch DLC bringing new fighters, according to GameDeveloper.

In the upcoming show, fans of the franchise will also get to see humanity struggling to maintain peace as they try to celebrate the wedding of a human and a Gear. This is the ultimate taboo, a union between the two sides.
