Telltale's hit The Walking Dead game continues its shambling march to availability on every platform with the release of Season 2 on PlayStation Vita. The first season has been available on Sony's handheld since August, and Season 2 is out today alongside a new launch trailer.
Vita gamers have unfortunately been forced to wait longer for Season 2 than those playing on other platforms, (at least those who want to continue their save from Season 1). The second season debuted in December on other platforms, and it's unclear why those who invested their time on Vita had to wait so much longer.
However, Episode Two was only released last month and with most of the season yet to come, Vita gamers have plenty of time to catch up. They'll still be able to play the majority of the season as it's released, and get the benefit of having to wait between Episode One and Episode Two. Silver linings, right? This is assuming there is not a similar wait (like there was between seasons) after Episode Two, while the third installment is released on other platforms.
A PlayStation 4 Game of the Year edition for Season 1 was leaked earlier by Gamestop with a release date of June 17, adding another system to The Walking Dead's fold.
The Vita version of The Walking Dead Season 2 will include both episodes of the new season released so far, and is available in two different formats. You can buy each Season 2 episode individually for $4.99, or save 20 per cent by buying the season pass that gives you access to all current and future episodes. Enjoy the launch trailer below, Vita gamers--you can finally continue your story from Season 1.
