Unearthing the Stone-Sheathed Sword

  • Location: Begin your quest by heading to the Fog Rift Catacombs, located north of Castle Ensis. The sword is hidden in these catacombs, which are filled with dangers such as deadly spike ceiling traps.
  • The Death Priest: As you navigate through the catacombs, you will encounter a large room with a Death Priest casting spells. Defeat this priest and explore the raised area to find an altar. Look north from this altar to spot a hidden alcove revealed by crashing ceiling spikes. Ascend to the platform in this alcove to claim the Stone-Sheathed Sword.
  • The Clue: Despite its plain appearance, the sword's description hints at its true purpose. It was used at altars of light and dark, indicating its potential for transformation.

Altars of Light and Dark

  • Altar of Light: To transform the Stone-Sheathed Sword into the Sword of Light, go to the Rauh Ruins, which are west of the Shadow Keep. Cross a broken bridge and explore the eastern ruins. After crossing another bridge, you will find the Altar of Light. Interact with this altar to transform the Stone-Sheathed Sword into the Sword of Light.
  • Altar of Dark: Alternatively, you can seek out the Altar of Dark. The choice between the altars does not affect the outcome, as you can access both. The Sword of Light is available to those who solve this puzzle.
