The Forever Winter revealed a new gameplay trailer that shows players more of what they can expect to see in the upcoming survival horror title.
Developer Fun Dog Studios first announced The Forever Winter, a tactical survival horror shooter, back in February this year. However, that particular reveal did not include a lot of details about the game nor show off any sort of footage of what it could look like.

But the new gameplay trailer highlighted The Forever Winter's squad-based, tactical looter-shooter approach, giving a much deeper look into its PvEvE Scenario System and many more features.
In the upcoming survival horror game, players will take control of a scavenging survivor who leads a community of like-minded individuals who simply want to be left alone. Unfortunately, there are AI-controlled factions, such as Europa and Eurasia, who control all of the world's existing resources.
These factions are also constantly at war with one another in an attempt to secure even more resources for themselves. This means that you will have to navigate these battlefields in order to collect what you need to help your communities survive, according to BloodyDisgusting.
The CEO and creative director of Fun Dog Studios, Miles Williams, said that the new game is not about being the biggest or the strongest there is. Instead, it is about outsmarting your enemies and making the most of every single resource that you can scavenge.

Survival will be players' greatest achievement because there are only three types of scavengers; the fast, the smart, and the dead. He added that he was excited for players to get their hands on The Forever Winter starting with the game's early access version that is supposedly coming soon.
Williams noted that getting the game is only the first step in their journey, adding that the team will work closely with the community to refine and expand The Forever Winter moving forward.
At launch, the game will be available for PC via Steam and could be expanded to other platforms based on its success and community feedback.
A Tactical Looter-Shooter
The enemies in The Forever Winter include giant, stomping robots which are employed by the warring factions of the game.
A press release previously said that your enemies will have their own goals and agendas and will operate in coordinated groups as part of a combat ecosystem, said Rock Paper Shotgun.
Furthermore, the enemy factions in the game will undertake full-scale battles both against you and other NPCs across the expansive world. Each faction will also intelligently react to your actions in various ways.
When you scavenge resources, you can build up your gear and arsenal over several runs alongside your squad. But if your squad dies, you get a game over and you will lose all of your gear and start over from the beginning.
Williams said that The Forever Winter was largely inspired by the opening scene that is seen in the movie Terminator 2 as well as the future horror scenes from the first film in the series. He also said that inspiration was taken from Animatrix: The Second Renaissance, according to PCGamer.
