An online posting by Gamestop seems to have revealed a PS4 edition of Telltale's The Walking Dead before it has even been announced. The listing on the game retailer's website has the title slated for a June 17 release.
The version Gamestop posted is the Game of the Year edition for $29.99, and it only mentions the PS4 as far as next generation consoles are concerned. You would think The Walking Dead will be coming to Xbox One as well given its presence on Xbox 360 and Windows, but there's the possibility of a timed or permanent exclusive deal worked out by Sony in the background.
June 17 is a Tuesday, which is when PSN updates in the US--a good indication that this the date you can expect to see the game. An online posting isn't an official announcement, but if Gamestop has the promotion and details ready to go (even if it's posted prematurely), you can take that as a pretty sound source.
The Game of the Year edition of The Walking Dead is already out on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. It contains every episode of the game's first season, as well as the bonus episode 400 Days.
The most recent The Walking Dead announcement was related to season two arriving on PS Vita. Owners of the first season on Sony's handheld have had to wait much longer than everyone else for season two, which will finally arrive on the system today. Season two debuted on other platforms in December, and the second episode was released last month.
