Preorders Now Open for Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports That Features 4 Modes

Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports is now open for preorders and will let you play four action-packed sports, including basketball, tennis, golf, and soccer.

The recent Nintendo Direct had a lot of surprising announcements and reveals, with Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports being one of the most unexpected. The game is set to launch this fall and will be available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

The upcoming sports game comes as it has been quite a while since the last proper Looney Tunes sports game was released for players in North America. The latest of these titles was Galactic Sports, which was an exclusive for the PlayStation Vita that never made it out of PAL regions.

Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports will include a collection of mini-games that are based on a variety of sports. However, they are given some unique twists such as powerups and special moves to keep things fresh and exciting, according to GameSpot.

It also features solo and multiplayer modes to cater to more players and each one will be able to control iconic Looney Tunes characters. These include Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and many others.

Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports is, unsurprisingly, reminiscent of Mario Sports games such as Mario Sports Mix on the Wii and Mario Sports Superstars on the 3DS.

It is also similar to titles such as Mario Golf: Super Rush, Mario Tennis Ace, and Mario Strikers: Battle League which are available on the Nintendo Switch.

The sports that are featured in the upcoming game are 2v2 arcade basketball, 1v1 or 2v2 arcade tennis, four-player golf, and 3v3 arcade soccer.

Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports will showcase iconic worlds, such as Galactic Outpost Delta, Porky's Barn, Foghorn's Farm, Road Runner's Canyon, Whispering Woods, Martian Command Center, and a lot more.

The new game will also let players disrupt their opponents in the wackiest ways possible while also keeping them on their toes for any potential counterattacks. Another thing to watch out for is the iconic anvil, said Gematsu.

Bringing Classic Characters Back

The last time that a video game featured the majority of the Looney Tunes cast was in 2021 when Space Jam: A New Legacy - The Game was released. The franchise has found success over the years with some of its best video game titles.

These include the iOS and Android game Looney Tunes Dash, the PlayStation 2 classic Looney Tunes: Back in Action, and Looney Tunes Racing which was available for PlayStation and Game Boy Color.

The games also featured Speedy Gonzalez, who is not even considered a technical member of the Looney Tunes cast. He had several spin-off titles that were released in his honor from 1993 to 1999.

The characters featured in the latest game have a serious history, with The Bugs Bunny Show, which is one of the earliest iterations of the cartoon character, debuted on ABC prime time in 1960 and has run for 684 episodes across 27 seasons, according to GameRant.
