Jackbox Games just released its new "Megapicker" which addresses a major issue that players have been experiencing with the developer's Party Packs.
The studio currently has more than 50 party games split between 10 different Party Packs and for a long time, players have requested for a unified way to switch between games. The main problem is that if the games are in different packs, you will have to close the one you are in and launch the next one.
Jackbox Games' New Feature
But now, after years of asking, players will be able to make use of Jackbox Games' new way of having all of its games in one place.
In a post on its website, the developer announced the Jackbox Megapicker, which is a game library that lets you view, sort, and launch the studio's games from different Party Packs in one location.
The post reads that with more than four dozen games, more and more people were saying that it was a lot of effort to simply switch between games. The new Jackbox Megapicker is a free product that is exclusive on Steam, according to IGN.
The new product will be coming to Valve's gaming platform later in July 2024 and Jackbox Games mentioned that they will reveal more details on its website in an upcoming Reddit AMA. Also, the team is encouraging players to request features for the Jackbox Megapicker via social media platforms.

The new Megapicker comes years after the first Party Pack was released in 2014 which saw the studio gaining a spike in popularity. This was when its Party Packs became a social distancing staple in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic forcing people to stay at home more often.
The developer's next Party Pack is known as Jackbox: Naughty Pack, which is the studio's first adult-focused Party Pack. It was first announced in April and while it does not yet have an official release date, it is set to be coming out this year.
A Massive Quality-of-Life Improvement
The variety of games in Jackbox Games' Party Packs encourages a lot of players to switch between titles in different Party Packs.
One example is Guesspionages, which is a clever little guessing game, and Survive the Internet lets you and your friends assail each other with the worst possible takes imaginable, said Polygon.
But when people play games with their friends, it becomes immediately a chore to have to shut the stream down, open up a new Party Pack, check that the Extended Tiemrs is toggled on, and restart the stream.
On the downside, many players are disappointed that the new Jackbox Megapicker will only be available for people on Steam. However, it is somewhat understandable as the new feature might be a little too difficult to implement on all platforms that Jackbox Games titles are available on.
During the upcoming Reddit AMA with Jackbox Games, console players will get a chance to ask questions related to possible plans for a similar feature for their platform. This could be a major game changer for everyone, according to GameRant.
