Ubisoft's XDefiant to Introduce Team Deathmatch Mode Soon

Ubisoft's free-to-play shooter, XDefiant, is set to introduce a much-anticipated Team Deathmatch (TDM) mode by the end of June. The announcement comes after players voiced their desire for the classic mode, which has been notably absent since the game's launch.

Players Demand Team Deathmatch

Since XDefiant went live two and a half weeks ago, players have been requesting a TDM mode. In a recent interview with IGN, XDefiant's executive producer Mark Rubin confirmed the upcoming addition. "Since XDefiant launched two and a half weeks ago, players have been asking for a Team Deathmatch (TDM) mode," Rubin stated. "We'll be introducing it in a couple of weeks."

Currently, XDefiant offers objective-based modes, such as an escort mode similar to Team Fortress and various point capture modes. While these modes provide a unique gameplay experience, many players miss the straightforward action of TDM, where the primary goal is to get as many kills as possible.

New Content Coming in Season One

In addition to TDM, Ubisoft revealed details about XDefiant's first season, which launches on July 2. This season will introduce a new faction inspired by Rainbow Six Siege, three new maps, three new weapons, a Capture the Flag mode, and the start of ranked play. More details about the new season will be revealed on July 1.

The inclusion of Capture the Flag is particularly exciting for many players, as it is another beloved classic mode. This update promises to bring a variety of new content and gameplay options, enhancing the overall experience for XDefiant players.

Despite some players expressing a wish for XDefiant to be available on Steam, the game remains exclusive to the Ubisoft Store. Nonetheless, the upcoming updates and additions are likely to draw more players to this evolving shooter.
