Diablo 4 has revealed the release date for its upcoming Vessel of Hatred expansion, which is set for October, as well as the new DLC class that will arrive alongside it, the Spiritborn.

At the end of Diablo 4's story, Neyrelle has absconded with a Soul Stone that contains the Lord of Hatred, Mephisto. She brings the stone to a mysterious new region that players will soon be able to explore.

Based on the trailer, Neyrelle is in for a nasty surprise as she can be seen becoming increasingly possessed or otherwise influenced by Mephisto via the Soul Stone. The demon god is seemingly trying to manipulate the adventurer and even took the form of her mother, Vhenard, according to GamesRadar.

Game director Brent Gibson explained that the new DLC class, the Spiritborn, are apex predators who are built for the jungle. He said that they have a flow and a feeling that he is excited for players to experience when they join the game later this year.

For fans of the franchise who are looking forward to the new class, they can get more information about the Spiritborn next month, which is when a class reveal live stream is scheduled for July 18, 2024.

Things that you can look forward to include new class skills, paragon boards, legendary glyphs, dungeon types, whispers, and many others. This could very well cause a shakeup of the entirety of Diablo 4's build meta.

Continuing the Harrowing Story

On top of this, the new region, which is known as Nahanty, will have you fighting to save Neyrelle from Mephisto's ever-closing grip. But for now, what players are excited about is that pets have just arrived, said PCGamesN.

The game will give you your very own pup to get you started with caring for your own animal. Your new companion will be useful because it will pick up gold and materials, providing a massive quality-of-life improvement to the gaming experience.

Cinematic director Doug Gregory also talked about the recently revealed trailer and how Mephisto was playing with Neyrelle's emotions. He said that the brutality is there, adding that the real pain is the torment of believing that your mother is alive for a second and having it ripped away from you.

All this comes with the knowledge of the fact that the one who is with you, the demon god Mephisto, is simply playing with your state of mind through the Soul Stone. Since Diablo 4's launch, Blizzard has released several content updates as part of a seasonal structure.

The most recent of which is the launch of an overhauled loot system in the game's Season 4. But the Vessel of Hatred is one of two known to be in the works at Blizzard so far, according to IGN.
