Astro Bot Pre-Order Begins, Showcases Bonuses, Rewards, Including Skins

The new Astro Bot game is now open for pre-orders and players have been given a look at the different editions as well as the various bonuses and rewards that are included.

Last week, Team Asobi announced that the upcoming Astro Bot game will be coming to PlayStation 5 on Sept. 6, 2024. A developer noted that reactions to the announcement trailer were exceptional and they are now working harder, faster, and stronger to put the final touches on the game.

Pre-orders for the game opened on Friday, June 7, 2024, and will feature three different versions of the game, the Physical Standard Edition, Digital Standard Edition, and the Digital Deluxe Edition.

Players who pre-order any of these editions will receive early unlocks that they can use to customize their gaming experience in the new title. These include the Astro Lovestruck Lyricist outfit, the Glorious Graffiti Dual Speeder paint color, and two Astro Avatars, according to the PlayStation Blog.

On top of these, the Physical Standard edition includes a physical poster that features Astro Bot art.

The Digital Deluxe edition, on the other hand, will add Astro's Yharnam Tourist outfit, which is based on Bloodborne, Astro's Golden outfit, the Neon Dream Dual Speeder paint color, the Champion's Gold Dual Speeder paint color, the official soundtrack and digital art gallery, and 10 Astro Avatars.

The outfits and the Dual Speeder paint colors in the Digital Deluxe edition will become available during players' adventures in Astro Bot as they unlock their respective buildings on the crash site. The developers said that they had a fun time designing the rewards and wanted to show them off to players.

The PaRappa the Rapper outfit puts the titular outfit in the sneakers of PaRappa and even features dog ears like the character and has a dancing emote. The poster that is included in the Physical Standard edition is filled with PlayStation homages and is double-sided, said The Gamer.

A Variety of Bonuses and Rewards

The avatars included in the editions are all themed after various PlayStation franchises, and show Ratchet, Drake, and Aloy. For Bloodborne lovers, if the Yharnam outfit isn't enough, there is also a Lady Maria avatar available.

The pre-order period for Astro Bot comes after it was revealed that the game will feature more than 150 classic PlayStation characters and zero microtransactions. This was revealed on the official PlayStation website.

The cameos come in the form of cute little costumes for the variety of Astro Bots that players will run into during their journey. The lack of microtransactions is a definite blast from the past when games were simply about the game and not about the money.

Astro Bot is strictly a single-player experience, similar to the original game that was included for free with PlayStation 5 units. The PlayStation website also showed off a variety of screenshots and gallery pieces from the upcoming game.

The new title stood out during this year's State of Play as the entire event received mixed reactions from players. This was because a variety of spectators were hoping for more during the event, according to VG247.
