343 Announces Match Composer for Halo Infinite, Launching on this Date

343 Industries has announced the introduction of the Match Composer feature to the acclaimed title, Halo Infinite. This eagerly anticipated feature, which has been a fan favorite in The Master Chief Collection, is set to launch on June 4, 2024, alongside the latest Operation, Tenrai IV.

How Match Composer Works

Match Composer allows players to search for specific types of matches. For instance, if someone wants to play Team Slayer, a 4v4 game mode, they can select it and join a queue for that particular game type. Initially, all modes will be enabled by default.

Players will need to deselect the modes they are not interested in to narrow down their search. However, choosing very specific modes might result in longer wait times compared to keeping all options open.

Limitations and Ranked Play

Match Composer will be available in most social playlists but not in Ranked matches. To compensate, 343 Industries is expanding the following Ranked modes: Ranked Arena, Ranked Slayer, Ranked Doubles, and Ranked Tactical. This ensures that Ranked players still have a variety of options despite the absence of Match Composer in these competitive settings.
