The remake for Metal Gear Solid 3, which is currently known as Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, is rumored to have a delayed release of next year after initially being said to be launching this year.
The report that suggests a further release time window referenced a retailer's listed release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. While this is obviously a placeholder because it has the game coming out on Dec. 31, 2025, the year itself is what sparked the rumors.
Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake Delayed Release
An established leaker, billbil-kun, was the one who reported on the potentially delayed release date of the new Metal Gear Solid game. Placeholder dates are frequently used in the gaming industry and the leaker himself was unable to confirm the release plans for the upcoming title.
However, billbil-kun's track record regarding unannounced releases, giveaways, and many more, is solid enough to suggest that the new Metal Gear Solid game might not be coming out this year, which is probably going to disappoint fans of the franchise, according to ComicBook.
After the initial report, Dealabs also expanded on the information by saying that there will soon be a new announcement about Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. The news is supposedly going to be shared within the next 10 days.

This timeline would put it right within the window of the Summer Game Fest events that will be held soon. This suggests that it is almost inevitable that fans of the franchise will be able to get some new information regarding the upcoming remake.
There have also been suggestions that the base version of the upcoming title will be priced at $69.99, which somewhat feels normal in modern times, oddly enough.
There are also talks that there will be a Collector's Edition available but it remains unclear what it would include to make a higher price tag worth it.
Potential Price Tags
This is especially true since early rumors suggest that the Collector's Edition of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will cost $199.99, which is a hefty price tag.
The popularity of the franchise is supported by Konami's report that said the Metal Gear series has sold more than 60 million units since the first game was released in 1987, said Insider Gaming.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The stealth game was built on Epic's Unreal Engine 5 and will let players experience being in control of Naked Snake.
You will be setting out on a mission against the backdrop and is, chronologically speaking, the first game in the Metal Gear franchise. Snake Eater tells the tale of how a super soldier, the protagonist, went on to become the legendary Big Boss that fans of the series have come to love over the years.
The situation with the new Metal Gear game comes as Konami has also announced different editions of the Silent Hill 2 remake. This remains consistent for the Japan-based company with its approach to Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, according to GameRant.
