Minecraft Reveals Official Release Date for Tricky Trials Update

Minecraft has revealed the official release date for its upcoming Tricky Trials update, which is set to launch on June 13, 2024, and add new vaults, raids, and much more content.

The Tricky Trials update will be available on both Minecraft: Java Edition and Bedrock Edition, which means that more players will be able to play the new content. The new patch will add trial chambers, which are a new structure filled with various traps, tricks, and treasures.

While no one knows who actually built these structures, what players do know is that they feature a slew of new changes, mobs to fight against, rewards to claim, and blocks to build with. If you journey far enough into the new chambers, you will see a trial spawner light up.

This will spill out hordes of hostile mobs and if you're lucky, you could even meet two new hostile mobs that call the trial chambers their own home, the Breeze and the Bogged, according to Minecraft.

The Breeze is a new mob that not only boasts envious eyebrows but is also capable of sending out a projectile that can send foes flying.

This is a mischievous creature that enjoys leaping in dizzying circles around you and is very difficult to pin down with arrows. In order to beat one of these creatures, you will have to be quick on your feet and even more so with your attacks.

You should also keep an eye open for the Bogged, which is a poisonous skeleton that enjoys living inside the trial chambers. This particular creature can be seen clothed in rags and covered in moss and mushrooms.

With new dangers lurking around every corner and chambers filled with traps, it is quite beneficial for players to team up and venture into the trial chambers with friends. You will have to be careful though, as with more people, the challenges might become even more chaotic.

The Tricky Trials update had its name revealed by Mojang back in April, which is when the developer also teased some of the new content coming with the patch. These include the new Mace weapon, said GameRant.

A Ton of New Content

Players will be able to craft the Mace using a heavy core and a breeze rod and the former can be gathered in a new type of location known as the Vault. The latter is an item that is dropped by the new Breeze enemy.

The new Tricky Trials update also adds new decoration options, such as a bunch of new decorative blocks. There are more than 20 paintings that will also be added to the upcoming package along with some new banners and armor trims.

The developer noted that the new Mace weapon will be particularly useful for players who are looking to challenge the new challenges. This is probably due to its unique enchantments that can increase players' jump attack damage.

For hardcore players who are looking for an even greater challenge, they can chug an ominous bottle. When you do this, you will apply a status effect known as Bad Omen, which means that entering an overworld village will trigger an ominous raid, and entering a trial chamber triggers an ominous trial, according to Polygon.
