The massive update will also add a "large single-player campaign that will tell the story of how they came to be and how they will affect the larger world of Aerbor." The lead game designer, Carl Toftfelt, said on Steam that the Bleak East lies to the northeast of Patrium.

He added that the region is home to the descendants from both Arleon and Barya and is filled with hardy settlers who live their lives free of their former masters. However, they are not alone and the team is excited to share their Song with players, according to PCGamer.

However, players will have to wait a full year before they are able to see the expansion but this is where the DLCs come into play. Toftfelt also explained that the team wanted to keep telling the story of Songs of Conquest at a higher pace than only faction expansions would allow.

He noted that they will be introducing something that they call Tales of Conquest in the form of DLC that will be released roughly every quarter. These particular tales will move the story of the game forward while also expanding on its gameplay through story missions following each one of the currently existing factions.

The first Tales of Conquest DLC is known as Rise Eternal and will center around the Barony of Loth undead faction. In this DLC, an undead scholar by the name of Kastus Maal will seek vengeance against Arleon baroness who killed him at the Battle of Grey Tor.

A Variety of Features

The latest announcement also confirmed a window for the release of the console version of Songs of Conquest, which is set for Fall 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. While there are paid DLCs, free updates will include new units, artifacts, and improvements to the multiplayer system, said Insider Gaming.

The game is a turn-based strategy title that is set in a fantasy world where you will control massive armies and conquer territories. It features stunning pixel-art graphics and a retro-inspired aesthetic.

You will have the option to choose from a variety of factions that each have their own unique abilities and units. Songs of Conquest emphasizes strategic decision-making, resource management, and tactical combat.

The game features a campaign mode and a sandbox mode where players are able to create their own custom maps and scenarios. The soundtrack of Songs of Conquest was composed by Tobias Gustafsson and has been praised for its atmospheric and immersive music.

Songs of Conquest also offers players a deep and immersive strategy gaming experience that is particularly appealing to fans of this genre, according to Zaman.
