Before the boss area, in the room with tall candleholders, you should heal up and save at the Save Block nearby. Before entering the final area in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, you should make sure to have plenty of healing items and a few Life Shrooms for emergencies.

Before the final boss' room, there are also treasure chests that contain an Ultra Shroom and a Jammin' Jelly. If you have enough Badge Points (BP) left over, you can use defensive Badges to make your life a little bit easier, according to NintendoLife.

The recommended ones to use against the final boss are any combination of Defense Plus, Close Call, Close Call P, Mega Rush, Power Rush, Pretty Lucky, Lucky Day, Last Stand, and Last Stand P.

If you have any remaining BP after getting the Badges that you prefer, you use things such as HP Plus and ones that give Mario new attacks to give you more flexibility. The Shadow Queen boss fight is split into two phases but the majority of the battle is in the second part.

When the battle starts, you should use your strongest attacks to whittle down the boss's HP as much as you can. The Shadow Queen has devastating attacks and can also boost both her Attack and Defense, making her hit harder while also becoming more resilient.

A Battle of Endurance

After you deal enough damage to the Shadow Queen's Prince Peach form, she will transform back to her original appearance and unleash her true power. In the early stages of Phase 2, the final boss will be invincible to damage and you will just have to survive for a few turns, said IGN.

When a cutscene finally plays out, the Crystal Stars will gather power and the Shadow Queen can be damaged again afterward. Every turn, the final boss can attack up to three times and often summons two giant hands to attack you with.

You need to take these hands out as soon as possible using multi-target attacks and they will later be resurrected as Dead Hands. Players should also prioritize these enemies as they can deal a lot of damage and can easily pick you off if you don't have enough health.

In regards to the Shadow Queen herself, you need to keep an eye out for her charge-up attack that can be avoided using Vivian's Veil. You need to continue this cycle of attacking and defending while healing until the final boss goes down.

After the Shadow Queen finally goes down, you will have completed Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. This is the last boss in the highly anticipated remaster of the Mario game, according to Softonic.
