Aska Releases New Trailer Showcasing Gameplay Footage of Viking Survival Game

Video game developer Sand Sailor Studio released a new deep dive trailer for its Viking survival game Aska that showcases the game's gameplay and various features.

The game, which is published by Thunderful Games, is scheduled to enter early access on Steam next month and will support co-op multiplayer of up to four people. Unlike another Viking survival game, Valheim, Aska features NPCs that help you who can be recruited to your village.

Aska's New Deep Dive Trailer

The latest deep dive trailer that has been released highlights what Bjorn, Freyja, and other loyal Norse followers are able to help players with.

Every single follower can be given tasks such as chopping down trees, gathering from boulders, building structures, planting and tending crops, and fighting against invaders.

With their assistance, Aska players will be able to grow their little camp into a massive and mighty Viking settlement. Not all of the Viking NPCs will be well-suited for every task, which requires players to carefully manage who they assign to what role, according to PCGamer.

After you successfully recruit enough loyal Vikings, you will also be able to set up production chains to make things flow smoothly. This is particularly beneficial for players who are not big fans of time-consuming resource gathering and would prefer to give this task to NPCs.

All NPCs have traits that should be considered when assigning tasks as it shows which roles they are better suited for. Players are also tasked with managing their loyal followers and making sure that they are happy with their occupation or at least as happy as someone can be when working labor.

When all of your followers are taking up the responsibilities of gathering resources, crafting, and building structures, you will have more time for other things. These include going out into the world, fighting weird monsters, discovering ruins, and trying to survive.

Upcoming Viking Survival Game

The latest deep dive trailer highlights a lot of gameplay footage for Aska and gives players a better understanding of the new Viking survival game. The title will also be getting a Steam Next Fest demo that will be playable starting May 27, 2024, said BleedingCool.

In Aska, players will start off shipwrecked on a mysterious shore and are alone and left to survive the harsh environment. You will have to find food and water and make a single camp in order to last longer.

Moving forward, there will be more dangers, and any player who has had their run-in with survival games before knows that the threats will continue to escalate. This means that you will have to become resourceful and continue crafting and learning.

Players have a unique tool known as the Eye of Odin that can act like a beacon to send a call out to other Vikings as long as they are able to keep it field with Jotunn blood.

It will reach out and give you the final say in deciding who you accept into your tribe and join you in your struggle to survive, according to MMORPG.
