Team Ninja's New Rise of the Ronin Update Adds New Features, Missions This Week

Team Ninja is releasing a new update for Rise of the Ronin later this week that will add new features as well as new missions.

The latest patch comes two months after the game was launched and Team Ninja game producer and director Fumihiko Yasuda said the update includes new Ally Missions, level sync, and many more.

After the update, when players replay a world in Midnight, they will be given the ability to choose to have Public Order deteriorate once again. The level sync change will add it as an optional feature to missions from Testament of the Soul.

There will also be two new Set Bonuses added to the game's Midnight difficulty and more dojo training partners will be available. On top of these, there will be a new Martial Skill type bonus and an increased limit of target score.

With regards to gameplay, the latest Rise of the Ronin update features the number of styles being expanded to a maximum of 6 when equipped with the same type of weapons 1 and 2.

There were also changes made to specifications so that special equipment would be given even if you did not confess, according to Insider Gaming.

Rise of the Ronin was originally released earlier in March and is a PlayStation 5 exclusive that had a launch that neither disappointed nor impressed heavily. However, it was said to have already surpassed the sales of the Nioh series, but there has been no new information since then.

Some reviews of the game described it as an "inferior version of everything that it was inspired by. Fortunately, these did not stop players from buying the game and helping get a dedicated playerbase, said PushSquare.

The update will also now let players change styles on various occasions, such as guarding an enemy attack or during a Flash attack. There are many weapon types in Rise of the Ronin, including the katana, bayonet, and saber, that have received adjustments. These came in the form of either buffs or nerfs.

A Ton of Changes and Improvements

Allied characters were also affected as the latest patch improved their unique attacks, making them smoother. There is also what is called the Path of Chaos in version 1.05. The developer says that "each playthrough will have different enemies" each time.

This apparently seems to be a new dynamic mode that swaps enemy placement but it is still unclear how it would actually work in reality. Yasuda also said that many of the shared elements that the game has with the Nioh and Ninja Gaiden series lie in the costumes and combat styles.

For example, Ryu Hayabusa's outfits and the Hayabusa-ryu combat style were inspired by Ninja Gaiden. On the other hand, most of the Western references were inspired by Williams' model in Nioh and he himself appears in Rise of the Ronin.

Also, the Nioh-ryu combat style would feature the three iconic stances that were seen in Nioh but Team Ninja took the liberty of changing it to fit Rise of the Ronin's gameplay, according to GameRant.
