Leather is a basic resource that can either be easy or difficult to get depending on how hard you work. This guide will help you figure out the best ways to gather enough of this resource to complete your crafting recipes.

Before players are able to gather Leather, they will first have to complete a few required quests and collect enough Gold. What you need to know is that there are two main ways of gathering Leather in Palia.

The first is to craft them with finished materials that can be bought from one of Kilima Village's stores. In order to craft Leather and Fabric, you will first need to unlock the Loom, which is one of the game's many Crafter devices, according to GameRant.

Crafters are different types of workbenches that Palia players can place all around their housing plot. They are used to create a variety of items in the game and you will be able to gradually unlock recipes to craft these devices.

When crafting Leather, players will have to use Sernuk Hides, which can be bought from the General Store for 26 gold each. For players who do not want to spend money on these ingredients, they can hunt Sernuk within Kilima Valley and they will drop them.

Sernuk are deer-like creatures that are commonly found gathered near the Mirror Fields and Whispering Banks. It typically takes two to three Makeshift Arrows to take down a Sernuk and while they are not generally tough, they are quite fast, making them hard to hit.

Various Uses of Leather

Using better arrows will also make your hunting easier as they deal more damage, which means you can kill Sernuk faster than before. It usually takes around five minutes to make Leather using a Loom but you can queue several pieces for production, said Rock Paper Shotgun.

The Loom itself requires players to reach Furniture Making level 2 and buy the recipe from the Furniture Store. It requires 15 Sapwood Planks, 20 Plant Fibers, two Copper Bars, and five Ceramics. All of these can be gathered in various places around the world within the game.

This resource is used in a variety of recipes, including Worm Farm, Hunter's Horn, Modification Bench, Moonstruck Nightstand, Moonstruck Dining Chair, Dragontide Armchair, Glow Worm Farm, and others.

Gathering a lot of Leather is useful because this resource is primarily needed to upgrade to the Heavy variation of crafters on your housing plot. An example of this is the Heavy Smelter which requires eight pieces of Leather, according to The Gamer.
